Instant Pot Vegetable Daliya

Try this healthy weight loss Indian breakfast recipe of Vegetable Daliya (also known as Broken Wheat or Cracked Wheat), made in an Instant Pot.

- 1 cup Daliya also known as broken wheat or cracked wheat
- 2 3/4 cups Water
- 1 tbsp Oil use any neutral flavored vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
- 6-8 Curry leaves (Kadi patta) torn
- 2 Green chilies slit
- 1/2 cup Onion chopped
- 1 inch Ginger piece chopped
- 1/4 cup Carrots diced
- 1/4 cup Green peas fresh or frozen
- 1/4 tsp Haldi (Turmeric powder)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Cilantro (Dhaniya/Coriander leaves) chopped
Set Instant Pot to Saute mode. Add oil, jeera, curry leaves, green chilies, ginger, and mix. Add onion and mix again for a minute.
Add carrots, green peas, and stir them into the mixture. Add salt and turmeric powder. Mix again.
Click the Cancel button on Instant Pot. Add Daliya (broken wheat) and mix. Add water and give it a final stir (Make sure to deglaze the pan).
Close the lid and set the pressure valve to Sealing position. Set the Instant Pot (IP) on high pressure for 6 minutes.
Once cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally for around 10 minutes.
Push the pressure valve to Venting position very carefully. Open the lid and fluff the prepared Dalia with a fork.
Add lemon juice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot as is, or with yogurt or your favorite chutney!
