Smoothies are one of the easiest options when it comes to making breakfast quickly and that too, packed with nutrients. The variations one can make with them are endless.

Basically, you just add in some combination of fruits, vegetables, some liquid base (milk, water, coconut water, juice etc) and an optional sweetener (like honey or maple syrup) and you are good to go.

Hot summer days come with an option to have cold smoothies wholeheartedly. On similar lines, I am bringing you a recipe from my kitchen, which has become our summer favorite, and is packed with nutrition. Trust me, the gorgeous purple color will even make the fussy kids love it.

How to make Costco Berry Smoothie With Banana And Milk

  • Add the chopped banana in the blender jar.
  • Top it with the mixed berries (I am using Costco’s Kirkland Signature Three Berry Blend of frozen blueberries, blackberries and raspberries).
  • Add in the milk.
  • Blend, blend, blend until smooth.
  • Pour into glasses and serve immediately for the packed goodness.

So, this is the quickest thing you can make, which is not only filling (thanks to the addition of banana) but also full of anti-oxidants, because of the inclusion of multiple berries.

The nutrient value of berries is no surprise. Berries are high in fiber, Vitamin C and minerals. So, all you girls, stock up on berries and slow down the skin wrinkling process. Yes, berries are a powerhouse when it comes to anti-aging.

Can I use fresh berries instead of frozen berry blend for smoothie recipe?

Yes, feel free to use fresh berries.

I don’t have mixed berries available, can I use only the single berry available at home?

Yes, you can use whatever berries you have at hand. You just need to keep the quantity same as that of mixed berries I have mentioned.

Any substitutes of milk here?

In place of regular whole milk, you can use low-fat milk, almond milk or soy milk, as per your preference.

Can I refrigerate the smoothie and have it later?

You can certainly do that for few hours to a day if you want to have it later. But personally, I would suggest you to have it as fresh as you can.

How many glasses of smoothie can be made using this?

This recipe is sufficient to make smoothie for 1-2 people. Talking about exact measurements, this recipe makes 2 cups (~ 235 ml each) of smoothie.

Can I use food processor instead of blender to make Kirkland triple berry smoothie with banana?

Yes, you definitely can. The food processor comes with it’s own set of post cleaning nuances. I would suggest you to invest in a good blender if you feel you are going to consume smoothies more often. It is not only convenient to prepare a quantity sufficient for 1-2 people in a blender, but the cleaning process is a breeze too. My favorite blender is the Ninja Personal Blender.

Also, continuing the tradition, here comes the 40th recipe under My Julie & Julia Project. For those who don’t know, I had started this project last year, under which I had planned to post 100 recipes from my kitchen by the end of the year 2019. But since I got busy with other priorities in life, I have planned to continue the tradition in 2020. So, this is the Recipe #40 for you all.
