We have a Nutella craze going on at home these days. Simple Nutella bread sandwich is on rotation as a lunchbox option for my daughter. Well, whatever works honestly. I try to keep things as healthy as possible, but sometimes we just do what works best at that time.
I do plan to just create the homemade version of Nutella one day. But till then, we will just continue using the store bought version. The idea behind creating these muffins was to have another thing that works as a toddler snack idea. I have used organic coconut sugar and whole wheat flour to make a healthier version of the base of these muffins. And if you have homemade Nutella available, nothing better than that.
If you can’t find organic coconut sugar by any chance, then just go for any unrefined form of sugar, like jaggery powder (which is unrefined cane sugar powder). I have got great results with swapping jaggery powder and coconut sugar in many of my bakes.
These Banana Nutella Muffins are!
- Healthyish (Use homemade Nutella to make it completely healthy)
- Free of added refined sugar
- Refined flour free
- A delicious homemade picnic dessert idea
These muffins can be enjoyed as a dessert or even work great as tea time snacks. Most importantly, these are a great addition to your child’s lunchbox. I like to send a variety of different things in my daughter’s lunchbox. So, these muffins come in handy when you are looking to add some nutritious elements in your kids’ lunch.
