Indian Vegetable Names
As a recipe blogger, vegetables have been the center-point of any new idea when I plan to cook or bake something new. Believe it or not, the vegetables have been used in not only savory dishes, but desserts as well. For example, these Eggless Carrot Muffins and Carrot Cookies from the blog are as much loved as these Savory Carrot Semolina Muffins.
Also, being a mother, I have been working on incorporating hidden vegetables in my kitchen creations, thanks to the little fussy eater at home. So, knowing the different names of the Indian vegetables has very much been a part and parcel of everyday life. But after I moved to US, the urge to find the Hindi names for vegetables has been more prevalent. While compiling the list for myself, I thought of sharing it with you all as well.
Here is a list of Indian vegetables in English and Hindi (सब्जियों के हिंदी नाम), sorted in an alphabetical manner. I have also mentioned other English and Hindi names for these veggies. Hope you find this resource useful as much as I enjoyed making it!
